Introduction
Throughout a woman's life, there are natural doorways - moments when the veil between everyday reality and the spiritual realms becomes thinner. These are times when we have easier access to subtle awareness, deeper intuition, and expanded consciousness.
Of course, we can connect to spirit at any moment. Yet there are specific phases in a woman's life when this connection flows more naturally - like waves in the ocean. We can try to catch a wave at any time, but when we recognize the right moment, the movement becomes effortless.
When we learn to recognize these gateways, we can choose to enter them consciously.
The Gateway of Puberty
For some girls, around the time of their first menstruation, a spontaneous spiritual experience may arise - moments of expansion, unity, or deep presence.
Often these experiences are confusing and go unspoken.
I remember myself at fifteen, not long after my first period. Sitting on my bedroom window late at night, I suddenly felt myself become everything - the people, the sea, the earth, the trees. There was a vast expansion and an overwhelming sense of love so strong I almost lost balance.
At the time, I had no language for it.
Today I know this is not uncommon. I believe hormones play a role as powerful catalysts for spiritual awareness.
When we understand this, we can support young girls - holding space, normalizing the experience, and helping them integrate it gently.
The Gateway of Menstruation
For roughly thirty-five years of a woman's life, menstruation offers a recurring spiritual doorway.
During bleeding days, the veil between physical reality and the spiritual realms becomes especially thin. Each cycle offers an invitation to rest, listen, dream, and receive insight.
If you allow yourself even a few quiet hours - stepping away from screens, creating a small sacred space with a candle, music, or silence - something begins to open.
Rest. Breathe. Write what rises within you.
Over time, you'll discover a deep inner wisdom that speaks most clearly during these days.
What a gift - every month - access to intuition, mystery, and spiritual depth.
The Gateway of Birth
In Hebrew, the word for birth - Leida - can be read as "near God." Language itself hints at truth: birth is a moment of profound spiritual closeness.
When a woman is supported to turn inward during labor, she may experience sacred states of awareness unlike any other.
Modern medical environments often make this harder, yet the gateway itself remains powerful and accessible.
Birth holds immense spiritual potential - a holy crossing between worlds.
The Gateway of Menopause
As women approach menopause, many experience a deep inner expansion.
For some it begins around forty, for others closer to fifty - but for most women who are connected to themselves, a profound shift arises.
This phase often brings life changes, renewed clarity, and a stronger relationship with intuition.
Menopause is a corridor of death and rebirth - leading into the wise woman phase of life: the woman who knows herself, trusts her inner voice, and carries lived wisdom.
When we walk this passage consciously, spiritual connection can deepen dramatically.
The Gateway at the End of Life
The process of dying mirrors the process of birth.
The veil once again thins, allowing a natural return to spiritual awareness - not as an ending, but as a transition into another realm of being.
When held consciously, death becomes a sacred crossing rather than something to fear.
Closing Reflection

Each stage carries its own sacred opening.
