How to Make a Vaginal Steam at Home - A Gentle Ritual
If you’d like to connect with your body and womb through a soothing steam, here’s a simple ritual you can try at home:
-
Choose your herbs - dried or fresh. Some favorites: lavender, chamomile, calendula for relaxation and to soothe the skin; lemon geranium for hydration; rosemary for cleansing and circulation; rose for nourishing the womb. You can blend them as you like.
-
Boil water and pour it into a heat-safe bowl. Add your herbs.
-
Place the bowl in the toilet so it fits comfortably under the seat. You can cushion the seat with a towel. Wait a few minutes to make sure the steam isn’t too hot before sitting.
-
Sit gently over the steam, keeping your lower body warm.
-
Cover your lower body with a large cloth to trap the steam and wear warm socks. Keep yourself cozy and comfortable.
-
Sit for 10 minutes, or as long as feels good. Light a candle, play calming music, or add essential oils to enhance the ritual.
-
Afterward, lie down and rest for about 30 minutes, staying warm and nurtured.
💖 Optional: Add a crystal to the water—rose quartz is my favorite.
